Obituary of George C. Campbell
George C. Campbell 1915-2003, age 88, passed away peacefully at Parkwood Hospital on Wednesday, November 26th, 2003. Mr. Campbell is predeceased by his wife Emily Bettina (Betty) Campbell, his brother Edward (Ted) Campbell and his parents Christopher and Olympia Campbell. George is survived by his brother-in-law and sister, Dr. Norman and Mrs. Marion Woods of St. Catherines and his sister-in-law Henriette Campbell of London. George and Betty were loving parents to Penny Cocker of London, Mary and Brian Morrice of Grand Bend, Nancy Campbell and her husband Peter Lavell of Halifax, Susan and Don Cameron of Vancouver and Cynthia Campbell of Exeter. George and Betty also enjoyed many years as grandparents of Lise Cocker, Jake Morrice and his wife Julie, Jesse Morrice and his wife Jessica, Lee Anne Lavell, Chris Lavell, Allan Lavell, Alexander Cameron and Justin Cameron. George recently became a great-grandfather to Bailey Ruth Morrice. George was a graduate of London Central Highschool, University of Western Ontario and Osgoode Hall Law School. He was a WWII Veteran and a Captain in the 1st Hussars. Many Londoners will remember George, Ted and Chris Sr. from London's Campbells Restaurant. After a brief law practice George was appointed Sherriff of Middlesex County. In accordance with the wishes of George and his family, a private family service will be held at the Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. on Saturday, November 29, 2003 with interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery. Donations of remembrance may be made to the charity of your choice.
