Obituary of Dr. Lajos Balogh
Passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 5th, 2016 in his 97th year with his family by his side.
Born in Hungary and immigrated to Canada in 1957 with his wife and children.
Beloved husband of Ilona Balogh of 70 years. Predeceased by his brothers, Tibor Balogh and Zoltan Balogh. Also survived by loving nieces and nephews. Loving father of 7 children: Kathy Kalopsis (George), Louis Balogh (Sandra), Eva Quigley, Zoltan Balogh (Janice), Gabor Balogh (Valerie), Tibor Balogh (Lorraine), and Peter Balogh (Karen). Cherished grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Chris Kalopsis (Tasha), Michael Balogh (Carolyn), Andrew Balogh (Maureen), Mike Kalopsis, Brian Balogh, Colleen Waring, Allison Cassar (Scott), Eva Balogh, Laura Dodman (Brandon), Jeffery Balogh, Alex Balogh, Kurtis Balogh, Connor Balogh, Justin Balogh, Julia Balogh, Alaina Balogh, Miklos Balogh, and Kendra Balogh. Great-grandchildren, David, Charlotte, Annabelle, Olivia, Oscar, Baby Kate (deceased), Stella, Layla and Isobel.
Cremation has taken place.
Friends will be received at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas Street, London, Ontario on Thursday, July 14th, 2016 from 10-11 a.m.
A Celebration of Lajos' Life will be held in the Logan Chapel on Thursday, July 14th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
A private family interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery, London, Ontario at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, the McCormick Home or to a charity of your choice.
