Obituary of Theodoros Vasiliou Rigakos

On Monday, February 11, 2013 and after a brief and courageous battle with cancer, Theodoros (Terry) Rigakos passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Gorani, Laconia, Greece on July 17, 1931. Theodoros leaves behind his devoted wife of 55 years, Evangelia (Stratakou), his loving daughters Litsa (Demetres Tryphonopoulos), Helen (Gus Giannos) and son Bill, as well as his most cherished grandchildren Panayiota and Panayiotes Tryphonopoulos and Evangelia (Angie) Giannos. He also leaved behind his siblings Effigenia, Eleni and George (Voula) as well as his sister-in-law Vicky and several nieces and nephews. Theodoros was predeceased by his infant daughter Panayiota, parents Basilios and Garyfalia, and his brother Panayiote. Theodoros will be missed and remembered by all his relatives and friends for his kindness, intelligence and sense of humour. Friends will be received at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. (between Waterloo and Colborne) on Thursday from 6 – 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Rd. W. on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 2 p.m. Interment Woodland Cemnetery. Prayers will be held in the chapel on Thursday evening at 8 p.m. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
