Obituary of Jean Marie Ahrens
After a long, brave battle against lung cancer, Jean went home to be with God on April 20, 2018. She was 71 years old. She will be deeply missed by her husband and best friend of 50 years, Stan Ahrens. She was dearly loved by her children Jason Ahrens (Kate), Stephanie Kelly (Terry), Jon Ahrens (Becky) and Sara Wood (Craig). She loved being Grammy to Sasha, Gabe and Desmond Ahrens; Courtney and Owen Kelly; Sam Ahrens; and Myra, Symone and Renae Wood. Survived by her mother, Alice MacFarlane, and siblings George (Sally) MacFarlane, James (Berniece) MacFarlane, Barbara (Charles) Bailey, Mary Thornton (late Brian), Judy (George) Richardson, Susan MacFarlane, Richard MacFarlane and Tina (Terry) Kelly. She will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her father Harold MacFarlane, niece Jennifer MacFarlane, and brother-in-law Brian Thornton.
Jean was a loving, generous and hospitable person who touched many lives with her friendship. She was a talented cook who worked for many years in food services, feeding high school students and nursing home residents.

Cremation has taken place.
The family will receive friends at Trinity United Church, 76 Doulton Street, London, Ontario on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Memorial Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at Trinity United Church.
Interment of ashes will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity United Church, St. Joseph's Hospice, or the Heart & Stroke Foundation in memory of Jean.
