He had one brother, Gus, and is survived by Gus’ wife, Donna, and his sisters Maria and Peter Rantis (Chicago, Illinois) and Tina and Michael Simos (Chicago, Illinois) and their families. Gary was very proud of the years at Ryerson Public School, Central High School (where he proudly wore the purple and gold of the Golden Ghosts football team) and Western University. Gary was associated with his father and brother for many years at the Maple Leaf restaurant and the 200 Queens restaurant and in 1971 left the restaurant business to pursue a career in teaching. He spent 25 proud years enriching the minds of many, many biology students at Medway High School. Upon his retirement, he joined the New Horizons Band at Western University and found a new joy in playing the saxophone. Between this band and the Swing Shift Jazz band a new enjoyment for life was born. Gary was heavily involved in the beginnings of the Canadian Medical Hall of fame and volunteered there for many years. Gary treasured his family and its rich history, so much so that he devoted over 40 years to the research and planning of the Kerhoulas family tree and crest.
