Obituary of Spiros Athanasakos
Peacefully, on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Mount Hope Marian Villa, Spiros Athanasakos passed away at the age of 78.
Husband of Stavroula (Stella). Dear father of Elias Louis. Brother to Peter, John (Maria), George (Tula) and Vasiliki. Uncle of Angela, Louis, Niki & Louis, Angela, Panajiota, Demetra and Thomas. Godfather of Sophia. Fondly remembered by his extended family and numerous friends. Predeceased by his parents Louis & Agelikis Athanasakos.
Spiros was an avid gardener and was featured in the press and television for his numerous contributions in the reservoir community garden. Spiros was well known in the restaurant industry and will be missed by all those whose lives he touched.
A special thank you to the staff of Mount Hope Marian Villa along with all his friends for all their care and support.
Visitation will be held at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas Street, London, Ontario (between Waterloo & Colborne St.), on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 7-9 p.m.
Prayers will be conducted in the Logan Chapel Thursday evening at 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Rd. W., London, Ontario on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Demetre Mouselimis officiating.
Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London, Ontario.
Those who wish may make memorial donations to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church or the Alzheimer's Society in memory of Mr. Athanasakos.
