Obituary of Joan Anne Cavanaugh
Inspiration Moon. Monlam Dawa. Lupita.
Peacefully in her home, in her 67th year. Resident of London, Ontario. Loving wife and partner of Chris for 47 years, mother of Sean (Rachel) of London, and Colleen of Toronto, grandmother of Oliver and William. Sister-in Law of Margaret Manis (Toronto), Elizabeth Reynolds (Mississauga), and Peter (Peggy) of Duncan B.C. Aunt of many nieces, nephews.
RN Graduate from St. Joseph’s Hospital in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Class of 1968. Recipient of The Queen’s Jubilee Medal 2013. Long Term employee of the London CCAC. Having worked in Palliative Care at Parkwood Hospital, School Health, various health care management assignments. A life long learner and active woman, avid sailor and member of the Goderich Yacht Club, hiker, race walker, traveler, tai-chi practitioner, book club member, jigsawer.
Thank you to all of the health care providers who demonstrated such professionalism. You know who you are. Also, thank you to the Ontario Medical System which provided thousands of dollars worth of medications, as well as, MRI’s, Radiation Treatments, Clinic Hours, etc. at little or no cost.
Friends will be received at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. (between Waterloo & Colborne St) on Thursday, November 27, 2014 from 1 – 2 p.m. A celebration of the ceremony of Sukhavati will follow in the chapel at 2 p.m.
