The death of a loved one is always a time of trial, of finding ways to cope, of learning to live without the guiding hand or thoughtful words that meant so much. But it is also an opportunity to celebrate a life well-lived, memories well-tended and the promise of a better tomorrow built on the solid foundation of so many wonderful and memorable yesterdays. Jerry will be missed by his family, by all those he loved and who loved him, and by the many, many people whose lives he touched in a thousand different but positive ways. He was without doubt a Mensch and while his passing leaves an empty space in many lives, it will be filled again, and forever, by memories of this remarkable man. Kindest Sympathies to Fanny, Steven, Michelle and the entire family. Jim and Carlyn Chapman

I have fond memories of visiting you and Jerry at the store during the early 1990's when my husband and I rented one of your historic townhouses on Colborne Street. One time when we visited, you generously gave me a dress that you picked out for my two year old daughter. She went on to win the Bay's baby contest here in London wearing that very dress. I remember Jerry's deep and penetrating eyes- the kind of eyes that have seen too much in one lifetime. Such kindness, patience and gentleness. He was the perfect balance for your outgoing, spirited personality. I know that you will miss him greatly. I send you and your family my deepest condolences at this difficult time.
