Obituary of John Fickling
Suddenly at McCormick Home on Wednesday, February 16, 2005, John Fickling was “Promoted to Glory” in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Shirley (Youde) Fickling. Loving father of Sharron Millard (Mike) of Mississauga and Sheila Fickling of Goderich. Predeceased by a son Danny Fickling. Brother of Edna Winslade of Chatham. Loving grandfather of Lisa (Ron) Scott, and Andrea (Mike); great “pappa” of Joshua, Emma and Noah. Dear brother-in-law of Betty Fairful and Edna and Jack Youde and several nieces and nephews. John was the owner of Fickling Cartage and Storage London and WWII Veteran (Perth Regiment), long time member of the Salvation Army London Citadel, and a band member, member of the “Vimy” Legion. Friends will be received at the Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. (between Waterloo and Colborne St.) on Saturday, February 19th, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the London Citadel Salvation Army, 555 Springbank Drive on Sunday, February 20th, 2005 at 3 p.m. with Major Gary Venables officiating. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Monday, February 21 at 10 a.m. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to the Salvation Army London Citadel Band or McCormick Home.
