Obituary of Marika Tombros
Peacefully and with dignity as she lived her life, on Sunday, April 29, 2012. Marika (nee Kostantos) Tombros, of London, formerly of Kitchener at the age of 88. Loving wife of the late Nicholas Tombros (2004).
Cherished, admired and much-loved mother of Betty and her husband Peter Tselonis, of London. Precious Yiayia to her adoring grandchildren Georgio and Marika. She is survived by her brother Ippokratis (Violetta) in Greece, sister-in-law Marika Kostantos of Waterloo, Thomas Tombros and Georgina Tombros, both of Kitchener. Loving Thea to Alexandra, Roland, Nikolas, Jennifer, Kyra and Frank. She is predeceased by her parents Sotirios and Alexandra, her brother Dimitrios, her sister Katina and nephew Sotirios.
Marika was in born in Kolindros, Greece and she immigrated to Canada in 1957. She operated Kitchener Dressmakers in downtown Kitchener for many years.
Marika touched the lives of all who knew her and will be dearly missed.
Friends will be received at the Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. (between Waterloo & Colborne St.), on Tuesday from 6-9pm. Trisagion Prayers Tuesday 8pm. Funeral service will be conducted in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Rd. W., on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Demetrios Chelonis officiating. Interment in Woodland Cemetery.
In Marika’s memory, donations can be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, which she held dearly to her heart.
