Obituary of Laurel Mortensen

It is with such sadness that we announce the passing of Laurel Mortensen. She will be missed by daughter Chris, daughter & son-in-law Lisa and Alan Dunn, grandsons Jack & Sam Dunn, brother & sister-in-law Clair and Mary Woodbury, sister-in-law & brother-in-law Sandi and Tor Watts and lifelong friend Maggie Griffiths. Laurel’s passing follows that of her husband of 52 years, Mort and her son Jon. Laurel’s life revolved around her family, her Old South neighbourhood and her decades-long work at the Best Western Lamplighter Inn. We’d like to express our appreciation and admiration to Dr. Lisa, Nancy, Helene and all of the CCTU nurses who cared for, and watched over Laurel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. A private gathering will be held in Laurel’s memory. Online condolences can be expressed at www.loganfh.ca.
