Obituary of Myrtle Wong

Born April 15, 1921 in Bendigo, Australia passed peacefully on January 20, 2013 with family members by her side, from complications of chronic scoliosis. Beloved wife of Hank Wong for 67 years; loving mother to Sandi, Ricky and Tina; devoted Pawr Pawr to Tyler, Daavi, Jazzmin, Sam and Amah to Una; adoring mother in law to Norman, Brenda and Steven. She is also survived by her brothers Dennis and George. After marrying Sergeant Henry Wong at the end of WWII, Myrtle left Australia for London, Ontario to start her long and rewarding life as wife and mother of three. Myrtle will be remembered as an avid gardener, devotee of big band music, Chinese brush painting artist and President and General Manager of the Chinese Calligraphy and Brush Painting Association from 1986 to 2002. Much admired for her tenacity, elegant style, quiet leadership and sophisticated design sense, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
