Obituary of Ruth Aileen Lawton

With profound sadness, the family announces the sudden passing at home on Monday, November 24th, 2003 of a beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Ruth Aileen Lawton (Keenleyside). Dearly loved and missed by her sons David, Stephen, Robert and Stuart, her daughters-in-law Sue, Marilyn and Patricia, and her grandchildren Paul, Elizabeth, Margaret, Jim and Trevor. Sadly missed by her sister-in-law Jean Keenleyside of Vancouver, B.C. and her cousin Pam Iseri of Tacoma, Washington. Predeceased by her parents Gordon and Lena, and her brother James Fulton. A well respected and loved educator retired from A.B. Lucus Secondary School. Ruth was also actively involved as an executive with the O.S.S.T.F. She was a recipient of the O.S.S.T.F. Award of Merit, the S.G.B. Robinson Memorial Award and the O.S.S.T.F. Judicial Council Award. For many years Ruth was a dedicated volunteer with the London chapter of the I.O.D.E., having received two I.O.D.E. certificates of Life Membership. Friends will be received at the Logan Funeral Home, Dundas Street on Thursday, 12 noon to 1 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday November 27, 2003 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Robert Ripley officiating. Private interment later at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and the wishes of the family donations may be made to the Compassionate Care Room of the Children's Hospital, Western Ontario in care of the I.O.D.E. or the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation. A Tree will be planted as a living memorial to Mrs. Lawton Services:
