Obituary of Stavros Plagianos
Suddenly and unexpectedly at L.H.S.C. University Hospital on Thursday, November 1, 2007 Stavros Plagianos in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Eleni of 46 years. Loving and proud father of Chris (Tracey) Plagianos of London and Patricia (Niko) Papaspyridakos of Sparta, Greece. Devoted grandfather of Steven and Eleni Plagianos of London and Aphrodite and Leonidis Papaspyridakos of Sparta, Greece. Survived by sisters Vaso and Vivi both of Greece and dear brother of Angelo of London. Stavros will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends of London and Greece. Predeceased by sister Olga of Greece. Stavros was an avid restaurateur. He was a proud owner of Steve’s Restaurant and Duffy’s Cove from 1978-2007. Stavros had a great passion for local soccer. He was a dedicated soccer coach, manager and mentor. Founding member of Apollos & Pan Hellenic (1978-2002) which was his crowning achievement where life long friendships were forged. Stavros lived strong for his grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. (between Waterloo and Colborne St.) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 133 Southdale Road W. on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 11 am with Father Elias Drossos officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Prayers will be held in the chapel Tuesday evening at 8 pm. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church or L.H.S.C.
