Obituary of Gilda Blackmore (nee Adler)
Peacefully, after a short illness, at St. Josephs Hospice, London, on January 28, 2023, Gilda Blackmore (née Adler) passed away in her 94th year.
Beloved wife of the late Russell Blackmore. Gilda is survived by her children Jess and Tim, son-in-law Chris Wheeler and many other family members.
Born in 1929, Gilda Blackmore was an ardent feminist who was permanently ahead of the curve. She found her way as a painter through persistence and grit. She was a remarkable human being who believed in her children and art in equal measure.
We greatly miss her.
She always supported Médecins Sans Frontières and Amnesty International.
