Obituary of Raymond Alexander McGonigle

McGonigle, Raymond Alexander passed very quickly and quietly with loving family by his side at LHSC-Victoria hospital on Tuesday August 8^th, 2023 in his 76th year.

He is survived by his wife, of 32 years, Christine, daughter Lisa (Steve), son Mark (Andrea) and grandchildren, Matthew and Emily. He will be missed by his remaining beloved siblings, in-laws and a large extended family in Northern Ireland, UK and the US.

Ray’s long career in sales started shortly after his emigration from Omagh, N. Ireland in 1969. He began with business machines when calculators were the technology of the time and soon joined the Food Service industry. Many of his relationships with customers and co-workers turned into wonderful long time friendships.

In retirement he continued his love of being on the road and traveling, with many trips overseas and around Canada and the US.

His other joy was Golf. Whether playing on our travels or being at The Open, back home in 2019.  He volunteered at numerous tournaments that began when the LPGA open was at the Hunt Club. Then he signed up with the PGA Canadian Open and was at the most recent in Toronto when a Canadian won again, after seeing Rory (NI) win it twice.

A Celebration of Ray’s life will be held at his home course, of many happy rounds, Oxbow Glen Golf Club, 10761 Oxbow Drive, Komoka, on Tuesday August 15, 2023 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. with tributes at 2:00 p.m.
