Obituary of Francisco Arturo Hernandez Mayen

Francisco Arturo Hernandez Mayen passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. He was 73 years old.

Beloved husband of Rhina; father to Elizabeth (Benjamin), Víctor (Stéphanie), Susana (Nelson) and Karla (Oscar); grandfather to Sophia, David, Daniel, Santiago, Cristina, Emanuel, Liam, Rhiana, Gabriel, Jakob and Amélia, aside from many ‘adoptive’ grandchildren who also called him ‘abuelo’.

His first name Francisco, of Germanic origin meaning ‘free’ and ‘bold’, truly embodies how he lived his life. He led with his heart, leaving a trail of love and friendship wherever he went. He was a man who did not stop working, always looking for innovative ideas. He was a great musician, an entrepreneur, a lifelong student. A great brother, uncle, cousin, and friend; a beloved son of God. He will truly be missed by many.

A funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1139 Riverside Drive, on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior. Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery.
