Obituary of Manolia Salvarakis
Unexpectedly, after a brief illness, at University Hospital on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, Manolia “Lia” Salvarakis (née Kourgiantakis) passed away in her 95th year.
Beloved wife of the late Nikolas Salvarakis. Loving mother of Bob (Gillian) Salvarakis and Stellios (Pam) Salvarakis. Cherished grandmother “YiaYia” of Manolia (Taylor), Penelope (David), Nikolas (Maria), Kali (Bob), Alexia (Stephen), Nikoletta, Kristina, Maria, Joshua (Katya), Tyler and Jacklyn (Steven). Dearest great-grandmother of Sofia, Kate, Karly, Camden and Alan. Sister of Anastasia (the late Costa) Karathanasis and Maria (the late Costa) Halivelakis. Forever in the hearts of many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Manolia immigrated to Canada in 1953 where she met her husband Nikolas through the Greek Orthodox church in Montreal. They fell deeply in love and were married in 1955. Manolia will be fondly remembered as a very special person who loved to laugh. She was an unselfish and caring individual with a kind and loving nature.

Visitation will be held at HOLY TRINITY GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, 131 Southdale Rd. W., London, Ontario on Monday, January 8, 2024 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Funeral service will follow the time of visiting at 12:00 p.m.
Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London, Ontario.
Those who wish may make memorial donations to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in memory of Lia.
