I have wonderful memories of my dear brother Gerry gleefully sneaking yet another of my raisin tea buns when I visited him, and Karen, in 2018. Our cousin Mary Ellen and husband Kevin drove from New York to join us over a weekend. They were meeting for the first time and became instant friends. We all had such fun catching up and had many stories to share. I was also blessed to have attended Gerry & Karen's wedding with our mother and brothers Peter and Eric. We met so many lovely people who thought so highly of Gerry, especially those connected to his involvement with their church. Gerry left Newfoundland to work in Ontario when I was very young, so we did not share many memories of home. He was a very kind and gentle man and will be sadly missed.
Much love

As one of Gerry's 5 sisters (also 4 brothers), I always remember how easy it was to make Gerry smile and have a great laugh at something - his laugh was infectious and full of fun. Gerry moved to Ontario as a teenager when I was very young so my memories of our home life together are brief. However, I do recall fondly how he would try to referee between our sister and brother when they would have a sibling spat from time to time. Gerry was a gentle soul, a man of faith who loved the church, a man who married and loved his soul mate Karen and made a beautiful life in London. They both loved a trip to Niagara Falls and the last time I saw Gerry was when I drove from Toronto on a work trip, to spend the day with them there, it was a lovely and memorable day.
Gerry you are sadly missed by your family, may you rest in peace.

Gerry was from a very large family in Newfoundland. He was the oldest of 9 children who are all saddened by his passing. Leaving to mourn are his siblings, Fred (Nfld), Phyllis Marie (Nfld), Eric (Ottawa), Patricia (Nfld), Alexandra (Nfld), Mary (Nova Scotia, Anne (Nfld) and Peter (Toronto) . Gerry is predeceased by his Mother Loretta Healey who passed away August 2021 at the age of 100 years, and his father Alexander Healey who passed away in 1979 as well as his brother in law Charlie (my late husband) who passed away Feb 2021.
Gerry moved to Ontario when I was very young so I don't recall much about him living at home but I always enjoyed his visits to Nfld or our phone chats which were not frequent as he was no fan of being on the telephone. We all kidded him about his dislike for the telephone.
I am sad to have lost my brother ... the first of my siblings to have ended their journey. Rest in peace dear brother and know that you were loved beyond measure by your family.
With love
Anne Richardson (Healey)
