Anne Mills

Obituary of Anne Patricia Mills

Anne Patricia Mills (nee Day), in her 89th year, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Extendicare in London, Ontario on September 16, 2024.

Anne was born in Alton, England on April 20th, 1935 to Eric and Marjorie Day where she learned horseback riding, drama, math and judo. She took a leap of faith and a bit of a gamble and emigrated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada with a friend in 1958 where she met her late husband William (Bill) Mills who predeceased her in 2012. After living in Toronto they lived in Watford before settling in London, Ontario. Anne is survived by her children Fiona, Judy, Sharon, Rick and Barb and was Nanna to Cathy, Bob, Dawn, Richard, Jeff, Valarie, Miranda, Ben, Greg, Aiden, Kyla and Lilly and many great grandchildren.

One of her most notable accomplishments was to enter law school after working in the legal field for many years. She took a leap of faith (and another gamble) and graduated in 1985, then entering private practice, no small feat for a woman in those times. She continued to do it all, she was a mom, housewife and well respected lawyer. After years with her own practice, she retired in 1995 and travelled to many different places in the world, enjoying cruises the most with a little bit of gambling.

Anne will be missed by many. She was independent, smart, opinionated, a little sarcastic and well loved. She loved animals and any donations to the Humane Society in her honour would be a lovely gesture.

A private interment service with the family will be held at a future date.  Arrangements entrusted to Logan Funeral Home, 519-433-6181.  Online condolences can be expressed at www.loganfh.ca
