Obituary of Basilici (Bessie) Daratzikis
Peacefully, on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospice, London, surrounded by family, Bessie Daratzikis passed away at the age of 81.
Beloved wife of Nicholas Daratzikis. Loving and doting mother of Mina Daratzikis, Mary Daratzikis-Rush and Aky Daratzikis. Cherished and proud Yiayia of Taylor and Lauren. Dear sister of the late Eleni (the late Gianni) Giannopoulos, the late Giorgos (the late Tasia) Kouroumalis, the late Panos (Golpho) Kouroumalis and the late Gianni (Nota) Kouroumalis. Daughter of the late Nikos and Argyro Kouroumalis. Forever in the hearts of many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, EV and the late Alex.
Her beautiful, sweet, heartwarming smile, resilience, and passion for her homeland, Greece, will remain with us forever.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the London Regional Cancer Program along with the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospice for all their exceptional care, compassion and support.
Friends will be received at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 133 Southdale Rd. W., London, Ontario on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 10-11 a.m.
Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Father Konstantine Chatzis officiating.
Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice in memory of Bessie.
