Obituary of Janice Dale Soltys
SOLTYS, Janice Dale - With family holding her hands, we went on one last journey together. Her courageous battle with COPD came to an end at LHSC on Saturday November 23rd, 2024. Janice slipped into the waiting arms of her mother Peggy Link, while her husband of over 50 years Dusan John Soltys, daughters Grega (Bryan), Natasha and her granddaughters Allesandra and Olivia guided her passing.
Janice was loud, proud and opinionated with a stubborn streak that had no end. She would battle with you and for you, support you and cheer you on. She loved with every ounce of her being and would let you know every chance she got that she loved you. Janice sang her way into John’s heart when they met and never left it. Being the only female in a band and travelling to gigs throughout North America, her life took many turns and life lessons were learned. Janice used these lessons everyday being a mother and wife nurturing us all and ensuring her girls grew into strong, independent women with a voice as strong as her own. Her love for her girls and husband were legendary and endless.
She was the most loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and daughter. To say that Janice will be dearly missed is an understatement, we are left with a huge hole in our heart that will never be filled.
We’d like to thank the team in the CCTU at Victoria Hospital LHSC for all they did for Janice in her final days.
