July 1, 1952 - November 29, 2024
Janice Marion Godfrey (née De Young), of London
Ontario, passed away on November 29th, 2024
from complications of bronchiectasis.
Jan was born on July 1st, 1952 to Jack and Marion
DeYoung in St. Catherines Ontario, third of four
children (John, Karen, Kathleen). Jan graduated
high school from Weston Collegiate Institute, and
later went on to graduate from Ryerson
Polytechnical Institute with a diploma in Fashion
Merchandising.
In Jan’s final year of high school she met her
husband Carl Godfrey, and they married on
October 22,1977. They have 3 children and now 8
grandchildren; Leah (Matthew Paull; Louisa,
Nathaniel, Sidney), Elissa (Joseph Lok; Lene,
Peter) and Joel (Sarah Kennel, Aria, Ezra, Brinley).
Jan loved her family and dedicated her time &
talents to them while also working at various part
time jobs. Jan was a talented seamstress and
cook, she loved the outdoors, her dogs, and
spending time at the lake. Jan was a Christian, and
attended Weston Park Baptist Church for over 40

but we will certainly miss Jan’s smile & sense of
humour.
