From 1983-1985, Mr Isaacs was my Grade 7 and 8 teacher at Orchard Park. I am a professor today but Mr. I almost derailed my teaching dreams because I didn’t think I could live up to what an amazing teacher he was. To this day his name is the answer to the “who was your favorite teacher?” security question.

Dear Susan and family - "Mr. I" was my grade 6 teacher at Orchard Park. He meant so much to me, and I still think of him years later. He truly believed in me and introduced me to all sorts of things I'd never been exposed to before, like art and literature, which became lifelong passions. And he was so funny, with a twinkle always in his eye. I honestly don't think I'd be where I am in life without his influence or kindness.
I'm so sorry for your loss, and hope you take comfort in knowing that part of him lives on all around the world in the form of all the people he shaped as a teacher. What a wonderful human being I feel so grateful to have known.

You meet a lot of people along the journey
of life but some leave such an impact. Such is the case
for my daughter, Trina, who had "Mr. I" at Pearson. Always
a smile, a joke and an open door policy, Mr I was the epitome of a
teacher and taught not only scholastical but life skills. Our family sends
you light and strength as you deal with this sadness.

Dear Susan: I was very sorry to hear of Howard's passing. I have wonderful memories of happy times Ted and I spent with both of you and the kids when they were little. Rebecca even danced for all of us once. I still remember how proud Howard was of those kids. Ted had been a long standing friend of Howard's and we both enjoyed his company because he was such an interesting and creative person. We learned a lot about Cape Dorset art from him and always admired his passion for education. My condolences to you and your family. Warmly, Barbara Bellinger

Our condolences to Susan and family on Howard's passing. Howard was one of my best friends in my youth going back to junior high school, our teens and summer camp. He was always fun to be with, a leader and inspiration to his friends. Our paths diverged after our 20's but our times together during those young adult years were memorable. I joined him in Lancaster, Pa, when he attented junior college and he visited us in the UK when we were away. Card playing,Jazz nights, and Isaacs iou's, they were remarkable times.

To Susan and Family. I was very sorry to hear of Mr Isaacs' passing. He was bar none the most inspiring and gifted teacher I ever had. He was my grade 5 teacher in 1977-78 at Northdale PS. I had the pleasure of seeing him again at the Farewell Northdale party in June 2010 and again in July 2011 at a get together of our class. How many people can say they partied with their grade 5/6 teacher :)
An amazing person who made a great difference in all of his pupils' lives. Rest in peace, dear friend.

A gentle and beautiful soul, Howard touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. I can only imagine how exceptional he must have been as a teacher, sharing his wisdom and kindness with others.
Even in the short time I knew him, it was clear that Howard’s life was a testament to love—most especially the profound bond he shared with Susan. Together, they built a love story that inspired all who witnessed it, a partnership marked by unwavering devotion, quiet strength, and grace.
His spirit lives on through Ben and Becca, each carrying a piece of his beautiful spirit. In their kindness, strength, and compassion.
Howard, may you rest in the peace you so richly deserve.

I fondly remember Howard from his Two Potter days. His enthusiasm for art and antiques was infectious even leading to finding the ultimate old wide board pine kitchen table. Howard found a single board one! He was one of the catalysts for a lively downtown London scene.
