Obituary of Phyllis May Williamson (nee White)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our precious Mother Phyllis May Williamson on March 16, 2016 at the age of 97. Loving wife to the late Charles Frederick (Fred) Williamson (1991). Adoring mother to Diane Williamson, Barbara Pagel (Jon), Noreen Burns (Paul) and Hugh Williamson. Predeceased by her son Peter (1966). Beloved grandma to Nicole Shimshaw (Dwayne), Danielle Bromilow (Stuart), Matthew Pagel (Gwynne), Kristin, Preston and Charles (Cam) Burns. Much loved great grandma to Katie and Carlie Shimshaw and Ethan and Brynn Bromilow. Predeceased by her 6 brothers and sisters, Jack, Audrey, Douglas, Constance, Shirley and George. Survived by her sister in law Jean White and 24 nieces and nephews. Mom was an avid reader and enthusiastic traveler. Appreciative of people and their unique cultures, she traveled the world to explore and learn about places like Australia, China, Europe, Egypt, and Israel. She journeyed to the North Pole in Lapland and met none other than Santa himself. More astonishing was Mom’s flight over London Ontario aboard a hot air balloon in celebration of her 80th birthday. No regrets to a life well lived. Time to rest now Mom. We love you. A special thank you to the 7th floor staff at UH for their excellent care and kindness during this past week. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome to join us April 2 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1997 Dundas Street (one block east of Clarke Rd) for a luncheon from 2 – 3:30 to honour Mom and to celebrate her amazing life.
