Obituary of Manuel De Freitas

Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, at Victoria Hospital on Sunday, December 13, 2015. Manuel passed away in his 80th year. Loving husband of Teresa for over 60 years. Cherished father of Manny & his wife Ellen and grandfather of Karina. Dear brother of Mariazinha Quintal, Leonardo De Freitas, Joao De Freitas, Dionisio De Freitas, Maria De Luz De Freitas & Bernardino De Freitas and survived by many nieces & nephews. Manuel was born in Madeira, Portugal and moved to Venezuela in 1955 where he ran his own business. In 1965 he came to Canada, "the best place in the world", where he spent most of his years in the Toronto area before settling in London in recent years. Funeral service will be held in the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd. (1 block east of Egerton St.), on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. (visitation 10-11am) with Father Jose Seminati of Holy Cross Catholic Church officiating. Interment to follow in Woodland Cemetery. Donations to Colon Cancer Canada or the London Regional Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
