Obituary of William "Bill" MacKay
Surrounded by his family it is with sad hearts we announce the passing of Bill MacKay on Saturday, September 12, 2015, in his 67th year. Beloved best friend & husband of Orma (nee Smith). Cherished father of Terry (Kim), Billy & Chris (Karen). Loving grandfather of Ashley, Kaily, Nicole, Cassidy, Matt, Isabelle, Keirsten & Addasyn Dear brother and brother-in-law of Linda (Dale) Buckley, Brenda (Ragnar) Odegaard & Dan McIntyre. Predeceased by his parents Margaret Maclean (nee MacKay) & William "Bill" Davis, his special grandparents Dan & Lillian MacKay and a sister Georgina. Bill will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews family and friends.
He served proudly with the RCR for 28 years and was a devoted hockey dad and grandpa. He loved his Cape Breton Roots. He was loved by many and will be forever in our hearts.
Friends will be received at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd. (1 block east of Egerton St.) on Tuesday September 15, 2015 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 3:30pm with Pastor Troy Dingwell officiating. An RCR Service will be held on Wednesday at 3pm
Friends who wish to make memorial donations are asked to consider the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
