Obituary of Richard Barry "Lefty" Thompson
Richard Barry "Lefty" Thompson August 12, 1949-August 18, 2013 at 64 years passed away peacefully in his sleep. Loving father of Jeremy (Christine) Thompson & Jason (Allanah) Thompson. Caring grandfather to Brianna & Riley. Predeceased by parents Jennette Marie & Joseph Stephen Thompson and brother Kenneth (Joan). Survived by sister Maureen (Gordon) Currie. Leaving behind many nieces & nephews. He still was best friends to ex wife Roberta Watson (Hameluck).
Richard was an avid campaign member for the Liberal Party of Canada working with Joe Fontana and Mr. Broadman. He was president of the London Dart Association where his nickname "Lefty" was established. His younger days were spent in the military with the First Hussars and later developed an undying love for Las Vegas & the Mojave Desert.
Friends will be receive at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Road (1 block east of Egerton St.), on Saturday, August 24th, 2013 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
A Royal Canadian Legion Service, under the auspices of Victory Branch #317, followed by a Memorial Service will be held in the Evans Chapel on Saturday, August 24th at 1:30 p.m.
Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
