Obituary of Gordon Clarence "Chopper" Smith

Peacefully, at Victoria Hospital, with his family by his side, on December 24, 2014, Gordon Smith of London, in his 84th year. Loving husband of Eileen Smith (nee Davis) for 59 years and father of Michael (Gale) Scott, Bonnie Smith, Susanne "Sue" Smith and Monica "Nika" (Dale) Simpson. Cherished grandfather of 12 grandchildren & 22 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his son Roy Gordon (1956) and his siblings Ilene Lee, Orval, Lenore and Ron Smith. Also survived by many nieces & nephews and missed by his furry friend Sasha "Tasha". Gord worked for 40 years at Canadian Pacific Forest Products, was a member of Duchess of Kent Legion & could always be found playing euchre at the All Canadian Club on Cheapside (at Highbury). Friends will be received at Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd. (1block east of Egerton St.), on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Evans Chapel on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Junior Sorzano officiating.
