Obituary of Frederick George Varey
On August 7th, 2014, with strength and dignity Frederick George Varey, joined his beloved wife Nona, just as the sun rose that morning.
Born January 24th, 1921 in London, Ontario. Dad was a proud RCAF WWII Veteran and long time employee of the LCBO. Dad will be sadly missed by his family Susan & Robin Purkis of Dorchester, Michael & Mary Varey of Kitchener and Pamela & Gord Elliott of Meaford. Dad was blessed to have loved and enjoyed 8 grandchildren Kimberly & Eric Hart of Ingersoll, Kari & David Hayden of Florida, Erin Purkis of London, Ian Elliott of Milton, Sarah & Jamie Austin of Port Elgin, Jenna Elliott of Hamilton, Brynn & Matt Schnarr of Kitchener and Nicholas Varey & Leanne Bird of Kitchener. He was a mentor and loving Great Papa to Liam & Duncan Hart of Ingersoll, David, Kate & Nicholas Hayden of Florida, Olivia & Owen Austin of Port Elgin and Lincoln Schnarr of Kitchener. In honouring our dad’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. Our family will be celebrating Dad’s long and happy life at a later date.

The family would like to send a heart felt thank you to all of the nurses and staff on the 5th floor, Cardiac Unit at University Hospital, for their care and compassion shown at this most difficult time. Another big thank you to all the wonderful caregivers who worked with Dad while he lived at Chelsey Park.
