Obituary of John Frederick "Jake" Barlow

Peacefully, with family by his side, at Victoria Hospital on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, John passed away in his 78th year. Loving companion of Betty MacDonald. Loving father of Jamie Barlow & Shannon Barlow. Predeceased by his mother Polly Smith. Dear brother of Dianne (the late Nick) Demelo & the late Denis Barlow. John will be lovingly remembered by Barbara Barlow, The MacDonald Family and many nieces, nephews, co-workers & friends. Jake worked 30 years for Greyhound and loved horse racing, dancing and any sport he could find to watch. Visitation will be held at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd. (1 block east of Egerton), on Thursday from 7-9pm. Funeral service will be conducted in the Evans Chapel on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
