Obituary of John "Jack" Eldred Cain
At Parkwood Hospital, on Sunday, December 11, 2011, Jack passed away in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the late Wilma Beth Cain (nee Merrett). Loving father of David & his wife Lucy of Kitchener and Paul & his wife Margaret of London. Predeceased by sister Betty & brother Ross. Loving grandfather of Susan (Scott), Cathy (Scott), Michael (Janine), Rebecca (Guillaume), Lorissa, Christopher, Paul & Cheryl. Dear great-grandfather of Matthew, Meghan, Liam, Penelope, Abigail, Noah, Zachary & Cain. Beloved uncle of Kathryn Macrow. Also survived by many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Jack was a proud & decorated WWII Veteran and was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #317. Jack held various executive Legion positions in London and was a strong advocate for Veterans Rights. Jack was honoured with the Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation in 2006 and helped establish the Remembrance Day Services at Parkwood Hospital and the Cenotaph.
Friends will be received at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd. (1 block east of Egerton), on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm (Legion service 7pm).
Funeral service will be held at Parkwood Hospital – Chapel Of The Good Shepherd, 801 Commissioners Rd. E., (Please use parking lot #1), on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Darrell Shaule officiating. Private family interment in Woodland Cemetery.

The Cain Family is very proud of their "Bub" (Jack) and his lifelong accomplishments. He will always be remembered by family and friends. Jacks passion was his family, friends, Legion and hockey night, especially his "Leafs".
