Obituary of Ross Cecil Eckmier

Peacefully, at Victoria Hospital on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, Ross “graduated to Glory” in his 79th year. Loving husband to Clara May (Freeman) for over 45 years. Beloved son of the late Edna & Cecil Eckmier. Dear brother of Bill, Ronald (Jean), Isabel (Tom) Sawchyn and the late Marie (Delmer) Buchanan. Ross will be lovingly remembered by his god-daughter Nancy (Randy) McWebb, niece Nancy and nephews Paul, Bradley, David, Gary, Larry & Bob. He will be dearly missed by his best friend Farley and will also be remembered by many good friends. Ross was Treasurer for 23 years and Deacon for 40 years at Egerton Street Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd. (1 block east Egerton Street), on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm and Friday from 10-11am. Funeral service will be held in the Evans Chapel on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Snihur officiating. Interment in Woodland Cemetery.
