Obituary of Doug Elsie

Peacefully, surrounded by family, at Victoria Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre, on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, Douglas James Elsie in his 61st year. Loving husband of Rose (Clipperton) for over 32 years, and father of Pam (Darrin) Ropp & Sharlene Elsie. Beloved son of Marie & the late Orvel Elsie. Step-son of the late Carson Hammond. Dear brother of Sharon (Bob) Marshall & the late Dona (Doug “Zeke”) Mounteer. Lovingly remembered by Rodney Fess, Cindy Karges & their families. Doug will be remembered by Fred & Marion and the Clipperton family. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. He will also be missed by his “grandpuppies”. Doug worked for many years as a furniture refinisher specializing in antiques, and for the past 10 years at the Western Fair Slots. Family & friends will be received at the Evans Funeral Home, 648 Hamilton Rd. (1 block east of Egerton), on Saturday from 2-5pm. Funeral service will be held in the Evans Chapel on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Sheila MacGregor officiating. Interment in Clipperton Cemetery. Donations to the V.O.N. or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Doug’s family would like to give special thanks to the V.O.N., C.C.A.C. and the staff at Victoria Hospital.
