"Miss Allison" was my grade 3 teacher in approx 1944. February 22, 1946 she wore her Girl Guide uniform to school. Three students were so impressed by the military look and so we asked her if we could join Guides. Even though we were a few months underage she didn't refuse us. We had such great times marching in the parade from Victoria Park and attending church services to celebrate Lord Baden-Powell. The stories go on and on. I went to school one day and found she had brought a guest. She was Yvonne. She came for several days. Commissioner Norton went on guiding bus trips which included Yvonne and Tom. I have several pictures. I stayed in guiding after the other two girls quit. I was a junior leader. I received an invitation to Nessie and Manny's wedding and watched the happy couple go out the doors of the church and walk between the row flag bearing girl guides. I have wondered for many months where Nessie was living but, although I do research, I could not locate her address. I was unable to get to the visitation but did attend the funeral this morning and listen to the lovely tributes that family members gave. I would have liked to share some of my memories with you but circumstances prevented me from doing so.

I was sorry to hear of Mrs. Moore's passing. I was fortunate to have Mrs. Moore as my Grade 3 teacher at Lady Beck Public School in 1958. I have fond memories of learning the books of the Bible, math drills, and a healthy eating program. She encouraged her students to be and do the best they could. Mrs. Moore was the one who inspired me to become a teacher. Rest in Peace, Mrs. Moore. Linda (Russell) Cowan

Dear family, Sending my condolences to you all with the recent loss of dear Mrs.Moore.. Mrs.Moore taught my 2 brothers and I in grade 3 at Lady Beck PS back in the 60's and she was the most inspirational teacher I remember. What ever Mrs. Moore said was the final word!!! I remember if you got 10 happy faces on your work you got a to pick something out of her special bag, I used that reward system for my own children, that is how memorable it was to me. Mrs. Moore was also a friend and neighbour(chester St) of my nana Winnifred Davidson.. I know you will all miss her dearly but she lives on in your hearts as well as mine...God Bless you Mrs. Moore Kathryn Taylor (Davidson)
