Obituary of William "Bill" John Pillsworth
At Caressant Care on Bonnie Place, St. Thomas, on Friday, September 12th, 2014, William John Pillsworth passed peacefully in his 92nd year.
Beloved husband of Sue (Wieland) Pillsworth. Loving father of Paul (Kathy) and Nancy Maunu (Gary). Dear grandfather of Emma, Chris (Kelly), Lisa, Steven, and great grandfather of Reece. Dear brother of Shirley Footwinkler (deceased) and Phyllis Guthrie (deceased). Survived by two nephews, Bob and John Guthrie and their families.
Bill was a member of the Armed Forces and a graduate of the University of Western Ontario. He was the Assistant Director of Recreation for the city of London and then joined the staff of Fanshawe College as Vice-President of Community Services and Continuing Education. He was a past chairman of the Easter Seal Campaign and avid Rotarian. Bill was the founding President of the Fanshawe College Retirees Association and past President of the London Community Small Business Centre. He was the founding President of the Trinity Lutheran Church Men's Club and author of several publications in Recreation and Adult Education. Bill was a strong believer in family, community service, physical activity, and church. Having touched the lives of countless friends, associates, and family, Bill will be sorely missed.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Bonnie Place who lovingly cared for Bill during his brief stay.
The Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 746 Colborne St., London, on Wednesday, September 17th, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Internment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations to Trinity Lutheran Church would be appreciated and online condolences can be expressed at www.loganfh.ca .
