Dear Phelps family - I just became aware of David's passing and would like to express my condolences to everyone in the family. The last time I remember seeing David was at his brother Edward's funeral. You probably remember me as Ed's friend I met Ed and David in St. Lucia, I remember David staying at our house when he came with Edward to St. Lucia. Dear Ellie and Family, Mark and I would like to send our deepest sympathy for Dave's passing. I think of him with great fondness both as a choir member at Harcourt Church but also for his work in the mental health field. I'd like to share a little story that I received when my father passed away almost three years ago from a friend who found it in her mother's book after she died. _________________________________________________________ What is Dying? I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength and I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says: "There! She's gone". Gone where? Gone from my sight-that is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side, and just as able to bear her load of living freight to the place of destination. Her diminished size is in me, not her; and just as the moment when someone at my side says, "There! She's gone," there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "There she comes!" And that is dying. Author Unknown Mark and Sharon

Ellie, I was so sorry to read about Dave's passing. I know it has not been an easy time for either of you recently. Although I did not know Dave well, I did have the pleasure of meeting and working with him on the M&S Committee at Wesley-Knox and appreciated his sense of humour and quiet manner. I wish you God's peace at this difficult time and know that Dave will be fully restored in heaven. God bless! Sincerely, Grant
