Obituary of Helene Sales

Helene Lucia Johanna Maria Sales (Vermeulen) Peacefully, surrounded by her children, brothers, and husband, Helene passed at the age of 77 at University Hospital on September 26th, 2016. Helene will be forever missed by her beloved husband Dr. Jack Sales, her loving partner for more than 50 years. Incredibly caring and devoted mother to John Sales (Kate Bergsma), Lisa Sales (Brad Furtney), Mark Sales (Kirsten Anderson), stepmother to Doug Warwick (Shanthy Weerasekera) and the late Robert Sales (2010). Cherished and loved by her grandchildren Wyatt, Blythe and Sawyer Sales, Raquel, Luke, and Brooke Furtney, Alden and Drew Sales, and Peter and Jenna Warwick. Her children and grandchildren were the "strength of my life". Helene was born in Ravenstein, Netherlands on January 10, 1939. She moved to London at the age of 15 with her late parents Richard and Elise Vermeulen and her four brothers, late Richard (2009), John, Tony, and Jerry who were a huge part of her life. Family meant everything to her. Her devotion and commitment to family was her highest priority. Her spirit lives on through the incredible legacy that she leaves behind. Helene was an inspiration to all of us and she will always be loved and forever remembered. Family and friends will be welcomed at the Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St., London (between Waterloo and Colborne) on Thursday, September 29th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Words of Remembrance at 3:00 pm followed by a Funeral Mass at 3:15pm to be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on 337 Ontario Street (Highway 21 South) in Grand Bend, Ontario N0M 1T0 on Friday, September 30th. Following the service, please join us down the road at the Oakwood Inn, 70671 Bluewater Highway, to celebrate Helene's wonderful life at 4:30 pm. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Alzheimer Society of Canada for this was a charity close to Helene's heart that she supported for many years.
