Obituary of Walter H. Dodd
Sadly, Walter H. Dodd passed away at his home on August 7, 2011.
Lovingly remembered by his wife Marilyn, daughter Stephanie Carson-Stead (Brian), and his son Joel Dodd (Nancy). He was predeceased by his daughter Marilee Ross. Cherished "Pop" to his grandchildren Lindsay, Sarah (Mark), Andrew, Bryan, Brendan, Sarah and Michael Stead and great-grandson Ronin. Brother in law to Don Elliott (Lois).
Walter was also predeceased by his sister Nancy Lawson, his brother John Dodd (Kay), and sister in law Doris Jarvie (Bill).
Born in 1928, Walter was a life- long London resident. He founded Guildwood Lighting in 1963. Walter was a past member of many organizations. He retired from the RCASC militia as a Lt. Colonel ,was a member of the Mocha Temple - Past Director of the Directors Staff, and a member of Masonic Daylight Lodge 375. Walter was also a member of Forest City Kiwanis during which he served as Lt. Governor and was also a Past President of Sunningdale G&CC.
The family would like to thank the VON and CCAC for their compassionate care and support.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Walter’s life will be held at Oakridge Presbyterian Church, 970 Oxford St W, on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 2 pm with visitation 1 ½ hours prior. Friends who wish may make memorial donations to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Walter’s memory. Logan Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
