To Beryl and the Chernick Family,
We were saddened to hear of your loss. Dr. Chernick delivered our first child in 1974. We were young UWO post grad students living away from our home in Toronto. Dr. Chernick provided the, kind, nuturing care we needed and made a lasting memory in changing our lives. He was more than my OBGYN. He coached us through every step from conception to delivery and beyond.
Dr. Chernick exuded, warmth, compassion and understanding. I looked forward to every visit as I knew he would have great advice to share. He had perfect timing and when I laboured through the night, Dr. Chernick arrived at the hospital at exactly the right time in the morning to deliver our daughter. As I recall,he had been updated by the hospital staff throughout the night. My husband was a bit shaken when Dr. Chernick took one look at me and calming turned to him and said," O.K, go and gown up and let's bring this baby into the world." It left us with an indelible , cherished memory and a story we have shared for nearly 50 years.
We were gifted a personalized signed copy of the book, In Touch by Drs. Beryl and Noam Chernick and still keep it close by.
RIP Dr. Chernick and thank you for your many contributions to this world.

Chernick Family,
I have fond memories of Dr Chernick coming into Medical Records LHSC to complete records. He would have everyone congregating and laughing as he was giving his impromptu sex talks.
Certainly he was a leader in women’s health. May your wonderful memories bring you peace in the coming days.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of this wonderful man. I was lucky enough to have Dr. Chernick as my obstetrician in 1970 He was kind, interested and thoughtful. Later, I had the pleasure of working with both Drs. Chernick in their office. They together were so kind, generous, fun and very inspiring.
I send my deepest condolences to Beryl and family and celebrate the memory of a life well lived.

I send my deepest condolences to Dr Beryl and family on the passing of Dr. Noam Chernick one of the kindest, most inspiring and loveable persons I have encountered in my life. In the 1970's, as a young professor developing and teaching one of the first Human Sexuality courses in a post- secondary institution, I discovered Noam and Beryl and their pioneering work in sexuality education and counselling. Their film "Sexuality and Communication" was an outstanding resource to my many classes. Noam's sense of humor, knowledge and humanity was so authentically displayed on the screen as it always was in real life. He and Beryl were indisputably pioneers in the field of human sexuality and I remain indebted to them for their support and guidance those many years ago. Rest in peace dear Noam!

I’m so very sorry to read of Noam’s passing. Although it’s been many years since I was his patient, I have very clear memories of his warmth, compassion, patience, and of the incredible support he provided my husband and I, on the best and worst days of our lives. He was much more than a doctor to us.

I will always remember the kindness of Dr. Chernick and the council he gave me many years ago at a very important time in my life. He imprinted a sense dignity upon me, and even in a short time, I felt his deep compassion and concern about my life. What a special person. I am so very sorry for the loss his family and friends must endure. I hope the special memories of this wonderful human hold them in their grief. His legacy surely lives on.

Forever in our hearts, Noam will be so missed. His irreverent wit, his delightfully boyish smile, and his incomparable Shofar blowing will live on in our memories. This community has lost a treasure and we cherish and embrace the beautiful family he has left behind. Much love to all of the Chernick, Filion and Fosters - may your sorrow be tempered by the beautiful memories of Noam's life.
