Obituary of Terry Burke
Burke, Terry “Stoney”
With profound sadness we announce on January 12 , 2025, Terry “Stoney” Burke passed away at the age of 78, at his home. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Brigitte, in September, 2024.
Terry leaves behind his children Martina Libby (Steve), Eric Richard Burke (Colleen) and Mario Durre (Ingrid), his 5 grandchildren Emily-Rae Burke, Nicholas Bryan, Teri-Anna Libby, Daniella Durre, Martina Durre and his siblings Phil (Nina) Burke, Dave (Patty) Burke, Marie (Albert) Lalande, Fred (Marilyn) Burke, Michael Burke, and Bill (Mona) Burke, and by several nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by his parents and siblings John Burke and Rosalyn Thyme.
Terry was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1947. He spent his career serving the Royal Canadian Regiment, and his last decade as an acclaimed author.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 11 am to 1 pm, at Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. A Celebration of Terry’s life will follow in the Logan Chapel at 1 pm.
