Obituary of William Thomas "Bill" Stanley
Peacefully, with family by his side, at Parkwood Hospital on Thursday August 25, 2011, Bill passed away in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Pauline for 64 years. Lovingly remembered by his daughters Nancy (Neil) Ebel of Redcliff, Alberta, Janet (Mike) Leblanc & Colleen Thompson, both of London. Special grandfather of Matthew Stanley, Kyle & Amber Leblanc, Brittany & Samantha Thompson. Dear brother of Watson (Marg) Stanley of Preston, ON and the late Betty Schwartz & Peggy Turko. Also survived by his nieces & nephews.
Bill served his country well during WWII, is a member of Victory Legion #317 and was a 17 year volunteer driver for the Canadian Cancer Society. He is a member of Acacia Lodge #580 A.F.&A.M., the Mocha Shrine and previous director & proud member of the Oriental Band.
Bill will always be remembered for his zest for life & his generous heart. He enjoyed the Thames Valley Golf Course, Tim Horton maple donuts and breakfast at the Delmar Sunday mornings.
At Bill’s request there will be no funeral home visitation or service. Interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Bill’s wish is for donations to be made to the London Health Sciences Foundation for a new MRI machine at Victoria Hospital. Special thank you to the nurses & staff at Victoria Hospital, Palliative Care Unit and Parkwood Hospital, Complex Care.
